Al-Muqīt (The Keeper)
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) is authentically reported to have said:
“Allah Almighty says: ‘O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship, and I will fill your heart with sufficiency and remove your poverty; but if you do not do that, I will fill your heart with worldly concerns and will not remove your poverty.’”
[Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi; Sahīh (authentic)]
In another Hadīth, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Allah’s Hand is full, and this is not affected by the continuous spending day and night. Do you see what He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? Yet all that has not decreased what is in His Hand.”
[Narrated by Al-Bukhāri -this is his wording -and Muslim]

The heavens and the earth are sustained by Him, and He sets aright the affairs of this world and the Hereafter. Everything is submissive to Him and subject to His authority.
Sovereignty belongs to Him, and in His Hand are all the keys and destinies of all things, and to Him is the final destination of His servants. All glory and dominion belong to Him. None can withhold what He gives, and none can give what He withholds.
Would the Generous, All-Powerful, Most Merciful Lord, and the Keeper be unable to drive to you food and drink to sustain your life?!
It gives us pleasure to spend some time with one of Allah’s beautiful names, namely “Al-Muqīt”.
Allah Almighty says:
{Whoever intercedes in a good cause will have a share in its reward, but whoever intercedes in an evil cause will have a share in its burden . And Allah is ever Watchful over all things}
[Surat an - Nisā’: 85]
{Whoever intercedes in a good cause will have a share in its reward, but whoever intercedes in an evil cause will have a share in its burden. And Allah is ever Watchful over all things.}
[S urat an - Nisā’: 85]
“Al-Muqīt” is the Supreme Determiner Who created sustenance.
“Al-Muqīt” is also the All-Preserver Who gives according to the amount needed for preservation.
Our Lord, Exalted be He, is the One Who drives to every living being its sustenance, and He directs this matter as He wills, according to His wisdom and grace.
Every created being needs a certain sustenance. Our bodies need food and drink, and our souls need knowledge. The sustenance of the angels, on the other hand, is glorification of Allah.
Allah Almighty is the Keeper and Preserver of His servants. He watches over their conditions and is All-Aware of them.
The Almighty Lord takes care of the interests of His creatures. He gives them food and provides for them.
The best provision indeed is the mind. Whoever is endowed with a good mind has been honored by his Lord.
My Lord, You are the Owner of grace that encompasses all creation.
Your supreme generosity reaches all that exists.
If another being were to own Your treasures,
which increase as You spend therefrom, he would have acted stingily.
My Lord, I seek refuge with You from our bad deeds,
and from depriving us of Your favors and blessings.
